Maysan, Amara (IraqiNews.com) -The head of Maysan Provincial Council, Abdul Hussien Abdul Ridha al-Saedi, called “The UN to interfere to stop the massacres committed against the Muslims in Burma.”
In a speech delivered at al-Shareef al-Radhi cultural institute during a gathering to support the Muslims in Burma he stated “Muslims all over the world should support their fellow brothers in Burma.”
He stressed “The international community especially the UN must have a stance concerning the suppressed people.”
The violence against Muslims in the Buddhist majority country started since months ago. Due to the violence, over 2,000 became homeless. Unconfirmed reports claim that over 10,000 were killed in the last two months and more were rendered homeless.
